Sarracenia minor var. Okenokeensis Giant, also known as the Hooded Pitcher Plant, is an unusual species that develops a domed canopy with opaque light windows. These windows allow light to shine down the funnel of the pitcher which causes insects to wander down the tubes where they get stuck and digested.

This is a larger variety of S. minor that can form towering 3 foot tall pitchers! It was named after southern Georgia's Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge where most of this species is found.
