Sarracenia flava var. cuprea (Copper Top Pitcher)

Sarracenia flava var. cuprea, commonly known as the Copper Top Pitcher Plant, is a distinctive variety prized for its rich copper-colored lid and upper pitcher tube, which develop early in the growing season. This coloration can range from a warm bronze wash to a deep, burnished copper, giving the plant a unique metallic appearance not seen in other forms of S. flava. Native to parts of the southeastern United States, this variety typically produces tall, upright pitchers with a clean form and occasional red veining, particularly as the season advances. Our clone shows especially vivid copper tones in spring and early summer, making it a standout feature in any collection.
