Pinguicula 'species Guatemala, 3100 meters'

Pinguicula sp. Guatemala is a taxonomically unclassified butterwort that has been circulating amongst avid collectors for many years. It was originally collected in Guatemala at 3100 meters in elevation making it an alpine endemic species. Nonetheless, we have found this species to be an easy grower, doing just fine in standard Mexican pinguicula conditions. Under high light conditions, P. sp. Guatemala will blush a unique and eye catching burgundy-red-purple coloration.

Pinguicula change leaf form in response to seasonal changes and conditions, particularly for Mexican and other tropical species
