Sarracenia purpurea subspecies venosa, also known as the Purple Pitcher Plant, develops low growing pitchers with a distinct burgundy-purple coloration. Plants will also develop intense venation adding to their alure and beauty. Sarracenia purpurea is a very cold hardy species making it an excellent choice for growers in colder climates. Due to the low growing nature of this species, it will often grow in large clumps!
