How to Efficiently and Safely Extract Bare-Root Pinguicula from Plastic Containers

  1. Avoid pulling the plant out forcefully, as this can damage the roots and leaves.
  2. Carefully grasp the edges of the moist paper towel and lift it up, then place it on a flat surface. Slowly unwrap the paper towel until the pinguicula is exposed
  3.  Handle the plant with care to prevent any breakage or damage to the delicate leaves.
  4. Using a tweezer carefully pull any brown and dead petals away however we do not recommend cleaning or handling these  pinguicula unless you have experience with propagating and cleaning these delicate species as they will fall apart if pulled incorrectly.  (optional)
  5. Allow the plant to acclimate to its new environment gradually, avoiding direct sunlight or harsh conditions immediately after extraction.

In case of pinguicula petals falling off, calmly place them on a damp paper towel in a clear container. Seal the container and position it under bright light. Mist as needed when towel dries. Under ideal conditions, pinguicula petals can recover and even grow into new plants. However, it's important to note that some pinguicula species are more delicate than others and may not. Exercise caution with delicate species, avoid disrupting roots without proper knowledge of your pinguicula species.

Pinguicula may die off during repot, acclimation, climate change and other conditions. With a healthy center, it will rebound once acclimated. Research is crucial due to varying species' needs.
